“As a fundamental strategy of the reinvention and the goal of an energized space, expanded and well-programmed cores moved the density and privacy toward the interior of the building and left the perimeter open for workstation neighborhoods and flexible creative areas.   Studios now have access to balconies, operable windows, natural light, air and views of the San Francisco Bay; and all workstations have a line of sight to the outdoors - providing the full population access to daylight and air.  This strategy also contributed to the registered LEED Gold status.”

Opportunities for “place-making” have continued to arise in our work.  We recently completed the new headquarters for Levi- Strauss & Co. in San Francisco which allowed us to continue to leverage our understanding of the brands and culture in providing master planning and design services for the renovation of their 350,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters. The workplace has currently evolved into a place that is about much more than just work. People spend more time “at work” and it is a place of social interaction, ideas collaboration and commitment.
